Making Room for a New Love

Green Blue Landscape in Melt Arts

Last month I took a class from Catherine Mc Cauley and learned more about encaustic painting which has really intrigued me. It's painting with melted beeswax, resin and pigments all put together in as many layers as you want and fused with heat onto a rigid surface. It's my new love. The seascapes and landscapes I'm already painting really lend themselves to encaustics. Yesterday I gave my kids some prints I had glued to wood board and told them to rip them off (kids always like ripping things) because I couldn't wait for my new shipment of supplies to get here and need to paint some more this weekend.
